Epic designed and undertook the post-wet terrestrial baseline ecological surveys to support the extension of the Burdekin Falls Dam wall by 2 metres and up to 6 metres.

The ecological assessment documented the baseline terrestrial ecological values of the area to support a future impact assessment under the Environmental Protection Act 1994, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999, and State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971.

Burdekin Falls Dam is located 200 km south of Charters Towers in Queensland, and supplies water for domestic and irrigation purposes. Epic designed, managed, and undertook the flora and fauna baseline ecological studies in accordance with the relevant guidelines and policies. This included managing land access and communication, preparation of extensive health and safety plans, an 18-day fauna survey, a 10-day flora survey, all reporting and compilation of a seamless GIS database.
