We’re incredibly proud that the Scenic Rim Agricultural Industrial Precinct (SRAIP) — Australia’s first closed-loop renewable waste-to-energy food manufacturing facility — has received a commendation in the Climate Change & Resilience category at the Planning Institute of Australia’s 2025 Queensland Awards for Planning Excellence.
Epic’s planning work on the project, led by Sam Redman and Dit Sang Lee, has supported Kalfresh Vegetables’ bold vision for sustainable agriculture and regional resilience in Queensland. After seven years of collaboration and assessment, we think the Kalfresh team have earned honorary doctorates in Urban and Regional Planning for their dedication and innovation throughout this journey.
A powerful collaboration between industry, planners, and government, with thanks to the Office of the Coordinator-General, Scenic Rim Regional Council, and all partners helping make this landmark vision a reality, as earthworks begin later this year.
