EPIC ESSENTIALS

If you are an Ecologist or Environmental Scientist with 3 years’ experience, we’d like to hear from you! We’re looking for a motivated, Sydney or regional NSW-based, professional who is wanting to build their knowledge and experience working in a dynamic environment that encourages growth and development. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for ecology, environmental sciences, rehabilitation, and/or natural resource management.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

To be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following skills/experience:

  • Educational Background: Tertiary qualification from a recognised institution in Environmental Science, or Environmental Management, with a special interest in Ecology.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience in relevant environmental reporting.

  • Accountability: Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, take ownership, and be accountable for delivery of your work to managers and clients.

  • Field Skills: Excellent skills, experience and enthusiasm for conducting flora and/or fauna surveys in a broad range of environments in Queensland, New South Wales and/or Northern Territory, including targeted threatened flora surveys, ground-truthing vegetation communities, fauna trapping and habitat quality assessment surveys.

  • Reporting: Experience preparing ecological assessment reports and present summaries of environmental data, analysis, impacts and mitigation measures for project approvals (i.e. development applications, and management plans etc).

  • Innovation: An ability to think outside the box and develop innovative approaches to solving client problems.

  • Project Management: Assist and lead the management of technical and financial performance of ecological and environmental impact assessment projects

  • Client Relationship Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively engage and maintain positive working relationships with clients

  • GIS: Experience with GIS desktop software such as ESRI ArcGIS and/or QGIS, and data collection packages ArcGIS Fieldmap and Survey123
