Epic is currently seeking a talented Principal Water Quality Specialist (marine and freshwater) to join our Brisbane office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a market-facing consultant who is looking to elevate their career to the next level.


As a Principal Water Quality Specialist, you will leverage your industry-leading profile and reputation to complement Epic's established standing in the environmental sector. You will play a pivotal role in attracting and mentoring like-minded professionals, building and developing an industry-leading water services team. You’ll work on high-impact projects across our diverse client base while also having the opportunity to shape the direction of water services within the company.


This position offers excellent variety of work and in the role you will:

  • Continue to build and develop the existing Strategic Water Services team and mentor junior team members

  • Undertake the planning and implementation of field-based data collection in line with State, Territory and Commonwealth regulatory requirements

  • Prepare written technical reports that are science-based and will stand up to community and regulatory scrutiny

  • Work as part of a project team to deliver projects to scope and within time, cost and quality requirements

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Tertiary qualifications, from a recognised institution, in an environmental science related discipline, or similar relevant degree

  • Ability to build relationships, manage projects, and contribute to business development activities

  • Strong experience and understanding of marine and aquatic environments including water and sediment quality sampling techniques, data collection and interpretation

  • Experience with the maintenance and deployment of real-time telemetered monitoring equipment

  • Strong understanding of the statutory frameworks, policies and science-based approaches that govern water management
