We are looking for an Ecologist to join our fast-growing NSW Team.

Epic’s Ecology Team is currently well-established in Queensland and is respected in the industry with a diverse range of national clients and projects.

With support from the Queensland Team, the role is focused on NSW and will comprise a dynamic range of ecological and environmental professional service tasks. Whilst the role will work with and report to the Sydney Team, we are flexible as to your location – Regional applicants are highly encouraged!


To be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution in Biological Science, Environmental Science or a related field

  • 5 years or more relevant experience

  • Biodiversity Assessment Method (BAM) accreditation and experience in applying the BAM within NSW

  • Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely

  • Experience in supporting key aspects of project management and administration

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, broad communication and negotiation skills

  • Demonstrated experience in ecological impact assessment and report writing

  • Strong capability in biodiversity field assessment

  • Demonstrated skills in flora and fauna species identification, plant community type mapping and threatened ecological community identification

  • Knowledge of ecological communities across various environments in NSW

  • Working knowledge of NSW environmental legislation and policies, standards and guidelines

  • Demonstrated experience managing or engaging with multidisciplinary projects

  • Excellent client relationships and business development skills

  • Current driver’s license

  • Ability and willingness to travel and conduct ecological field surveys in remote locations
