EPIC ESSENTIALS

Due to the ongoing success of our growing water services team, we are currently seeking a qualified candidate to take on a role as an Associate / Principal Hydrogeologist based in our Brisbane or Syndey office (accommodations can be made for other locations).


The candidate will play a key role in the execution of projects for a wide range of clients, working as part of a dedicated strategic water services team, which includes a team of six experienced hydrogeologists and specialist integrated surface water technical leaders, spread across three states.


In the role the candidate will support the growth of the strategic water services team by engaging with existing and potential clients and delivering / supporting technical expertise.


This position offers excellent variety of work. Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Playing an active role in the business development, through  client meetings, developing capability statements and marketing materials

  • Developing and implementing strategic plans for the strategic water services team

  • Co-ordinating delivery of proposals and projects

  • Leading, reviewing, and approving technical deliverables related to the hydrogeology discipline, including:

o Groundwater modelling

o Water balance modelling

o Groundwater management and monitoring plans

o Groundwater resource investigations

o Groundwater baseline assessments

o Groundwater impact assessments

  • Providing technical support to across disciplines including environment and planning and contaminated land

  • Training and mentoring of staff to promote technical excellence

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

To be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following:

  • A minimum of 14 years’ experience in an environmental consulting role, with a majority of experience from operating in Australia

  • Proven experience in engaging with clients in the Australian mining and resources sector

  • Proven experience in delivering projects for the Australian mining and resources sector

  • Proven experience in project management and client management

  • Proven experience with preparing winning proposals for small to large scale projects

  • In-depth knowledge of environmental management principles, policies (State and Federal), and issues related to mining, oil and gas, groundwater management, impact assessment, and water sustainability

  • Ability to build relationships, manage projects, build teams, and participate in business development

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, and ability to communicate complex issues concisely

  • Strong technical report writing skills

  • A current driver's license and ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles

  • Tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution in hydrogeology / water resources / or environmental science / engineering related discipline or similar relevant degree

The following would be desirable for the role, but not essential:

  • Experience with contaminant fate and transport modelling

  • Experience with design and installation of vibrating wire piezometers

  • Experience with numerical modelling (MODFLOW/FEFLOW)

  • Experience with water balance modelling

  • Experience with regulator engagement and environmental licencing / approvals
