EPIC ESSENTIALS
Our fast-growing Sydney office is looking for a Contaminated Land Scientist to join our Team. We have a strong pipeline of projects across all sectors of the contaminated land industry and are looking to grow our project delivery team.
Under the direction of our Team Leaders, Principal staff and NSW EPA accredited Contaminated Land Auditor, you will support the delivery of contaminated land projects and remediation programs.
As a member of the Contaminated Land Team, this position offers diverse tasks and will see you involved in:
Driving the delivery of a variety of projects across multiple sectors requiring Contaminated Land investigations and assessments
Undertaking field investigations, data interpretation, and report preparation
Supporting and managing the delivery of PSIs, DSI, RAPs, Due Diligence assessments and more
Supporting various remediation tasks and developing your skills in remediation design and managing complex remediation sites
Preparing proposals and bids to support our winning strategy
Engaging with internal and external clients and subcontractors to plan and deliver high quality outcomes
Preparing written reports including a high level of attention to detail, using an objective driven focus
Participating in strategy and innovation within the company to foster continued improvement
Participating in internal and external presentations to demonstrate learning and knowledge
Opportunity to develop team leadership skills
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
To be considered for this position, you will need to possess the following:
Tertiary qualifications from a recognised institution
2 – 5 years’ experience in an environmental consulting role with at least 1 year operating in Australia
Proficient written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
Experience in supporting key aspects of project management and administration, as well as subcontractor and HSE management
A high level of competency in Contaminated Land aspects of field work is essential
Interest in developing and mentoring junior members of the team
Working knowledge of relevant NSW environmental legislation
Demonstrated understanding and application of national technical framework such as the NEPM (Assessment of Site Contamination)
Demonstrated team player and able to self-motivate and take ownership of and be accountable for the delivery of contaminated land tasks and projects
Interest in becoming certified by a recognised industry organisation (i.e. CEnvP/CEnvP-SC, CPSS/CPSS-CSAM) is desirable
