Epic was engaged by Goodman to prepare a Bushland Management Plan (BMP) for an approved commercial / industrial development in Redbank, Queensland. The BMP was subject to conditions under Ipswich City Council’s Planning Scheme Policy 3 – General Works, Part 3 – Standards for design of Parks and Streetscapes.
The site was densely vegetated with invasive species. Additionally, there were two areas of substantial erosion caused by upstream damage flows and highly erodible soils. A flora survey was undertaken for the site, assessing the vegetation of interest and identifying significant trees.
Epic prepared a BMP with consideration to Council requirements, site constraints and opportunity for success of the rehabilitation program. The BMP outlined a program of scour repair, weed treatment and a native species planting to ensure a gradual transition of the site to a native vegetation community. The BMP also provided for long-term maintenance measures to ensure the long-term sustainability of the vegetated community.
