Project Description

Epic was engaged to provide environmental consulting services to support the Bruce-Highway Road re-alignment, a large-scale civil works project undertaken on behalf of the QLD Government. The specific worksite was the location of a known historic cattle dip, in Traveston, QLD.

Throughout this engagement, Epic was able to:

  • Provide cost effective and practical options for the remediation of the site;
  • Supervise the excavation of material known to be contaminated through the previous use of the site as a livestock dip structure;
  • Undertake a validation sampling program in order to confirm removal of all contaminated material; and
  • Establish environmental safeguards to ensure investigative works were carried out in an environmentally acceptable manner.

In so-doing Epic were able to work cooperatively with the civil contractors, to ensure works were completed expediently and to budget, enabling the continuation of work without undue delay.
