Project Description

Epic was engaged to undertake a flora survey of an area near Emerald, Central Queensland. The purpose of the flora survey was to provide a description of the existing flora within the site and identify Endangered, Vulnerable or Near Threatened (EVNT) species under the Nature Conservation Act 1992 that are or are likely to be present within the clearing impact area.

The survey did not detect any EVNT species in the clearing impact area and therefore a clearing permit was not required. However, a permit exemption was required to be prepared and submitted to the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP) which Epic undertook.

The Flora Survey Report provided an inventory of the existing flora within the survey area and acted as a supporting document to DEHP in their decision making for the permit exemption. The permit exemption was successfully gained shortly after submission.
